A little over five years ago I was working full time and doing my third degree in university. I was pretty much doing sixteen hour days but I love school so much I didn't care. I was a member of mensa and I practically lived in the school library. I spent my weekends camping, going out for dinner, to pubs and dance clubs and love silly things like museums, art galleries and yes the zoo. I was crazy for travel and wanted to go anywhere I could.

Then on my birthday I got so sick I had to go to the hospital. It's five years later now and I haven't worked since that day or done any schooling. I had developed a rare kidney disorder that causes my kidneys to swell and bleed into my body. Plus a severly diminished immune system. I had never even had a bladder infection before this and now I've had five kidney infection, two of which almost killed me from sepsis. I got pneumonia in the middle of a hot summer from who knows what and I can barely eat anything (which is sad because I love food). I spend most of my days in severe pain and fatigue and sleep a lot, but also suffer insomnia if the pain is too unbarable. I take handfuls of pills a day and can't really go out much. I went from making about a not to shabby paycheck which allowed me to pay for school while paying off student loans, bills, rent and incidentals while still having a small chunk of spening money, to next to nothing once a month inssurance payments which barely pay my bills and have left me back to not being able to pay stuent loans off and no school or really future to see. It took two years to get any money at all from my insurrance company because they are kinda corrupt and immoral. The doctors sent me to a place called the chronic pain center where I could learn some skills for better managing my pain. Also they wanted a pyschologist to tell me that I probably would never get better or be able to work ever again ( in case I freaked out I guess).

While I'm sure that there's a chance I won't get better I'm way to young to give up. Even though I can't do a whole lot I still try to keep some fun in my life. The internet plays a big role in that. I allow the doctors to do any test they want if it might help figure out a cure and I have tried many drugs and other things to try and beat this. I plan to just keep trying.

I foster kittens to keep happy and feel like I'm helping the world a little. I tell my story to anyone who wants to hear it and I tell them that there are tons of lessons learned.

I love technology and anything to do with it. We have over six terabytes of TV shows, movies and pictures so I have some stuff to watch lol. Plus for christmas and my birthday and sometimes random times friends and family buy me gaming systems and loads of games because they know I need stuff to keep me from getting bored.

One of my biggest loves is travel. This is harder to do when you are sick and kinda poor but my family and friends try and help with this too. My mom took me to LA last year so I could go to disneyland, universal studios, downtown LA and kinda all over. We went for a week so I could take my time. I took tons of my pain medications and I rested when I needed too so even though it wasn't same as if I was well but it was still a blast. She also took me on a road trip through Alberta, Montana and Idaho. She drove the whole time so I was able to rest a lot and still enjoy the trip.

Mexico was my favorite but luckily I went there before I was ill. I wish I could go to Mexico every year. The land is beautiful, the water is warm and the people are amazing. Plus I got to see some ruins which was a highlight for me. I swim like a fish so the ocean was a dream come true.

The only travel that can suck is when I have to drive. If I am really sick and I have to drive it's like my body is on fire and I feel like I am dying. Also sometimes I have to go to my hotel and take naps or baths when others are doing fun activities because I'm too sick to participate. I bring my laptop with me so that I can watch Tv and movies in the Bath. It's not so bad to miss out on stuff I'm just happy to be there.

One great thing is that I have seen almost every single TV show on TV and thousands of movies so I'm kinda a buff when it comes to that. People really enjoy asking me "who that guy in the movie with a beach and the weird game scene" then I say " oh that was The Beach with Leonardo Decaprio. That's how random the reference can be and yes I even watch lame movies lol.

Well I've been up for hours now so I think I'll write more another time. if you are bothered by how long this is than I just have one question. Why the hell did you read it all ;)
