Sean Hakim is Starchild X. Sean was born in Toronto, Canada. At an early age he displayed a love an understanding of music composition. Born into a family that appreciated all musical styles, Sean quickly developed a love for New Wave, Pop/Rock, Electro and Hip Hop. In addition to writing and composing his own songs, when Sean entered high school he decided to learn to play the trumpet and joined a jazz band. Throughout this time he would compose songs using on an old Atari system. It was during this period that Sean would develop his own style.
Heavily influence by the production genius of groups like Depeche Mode and Public Enemy, Sean began using the "full sound" approach popularized by those bands in his own compositions.
After high school, Sean pursued a career as an actor, acquiring principal roles on a variety of Canadian produced television shows including Relic Hunter, Sue Thomas FB E.Y.E., and Exhibit A. Sean re-discovered his love for a live audience while touring for 10 years with the award winning show "A Whole New Perspective" seen by over a million people across North America.
Sean continues to tour across Canada, previewing his music to the youth and receiving an increasing amount of positive feedback. His upcoming album "Violent Bloom" features a rich texture of musical material ranging from Electropop and Dance to Hip Hop and Rock. Sean plans on "Violent Bloom" being the first of many musical projects under the pseudonym STARCHILD X.
