I often recommend "Concrete" as an entry text ... i don't know ... All of his books are recommendable ... maybe "Old Masters" or "Woodcutters" or "Extinction", also "The Lime Works" (you are a musician ... it deals about a study of hearing ...) ... all beautifully depressing and misanthropic. But he also has an interesting (lovable) sense of humor (I always laugh a lot when I read it) and a lot of contempt for his country, Austria and Austrian politics and culture...

I read the Krishnamurti quotation in your 'about me' column and remembered a quotation of Thomas Bernhard. Do you know him? I try an english translation. (Sorry if it's a little bumpy).
