Even among Chinese instruments there is a bit of "caste" distinction. "Guzheng" is literally "ancient harp" It is considered an instrument of the scholars and high art. The compositions for guzheng is poetic and contemplative.

A 19-year old teenage violin prodigy is entitled to put on whatever facial expression he likes. I love the way he is enjoying the music so naturally. Close your eyes and just listen. Was 尹芳玲's version really released in 1969? Has to be earlier than that. 1967 or 1968.

Someone commented that this version was sang by 金露華. Check out the other post by chayapol65. As I recall, the version playing on HK radio during that time was sang by 尹芳玲 but that's a long time ago.

Composers out there: please try to create some new chamber music for these Chinese instruments. Let the creative juice flow.
