Im a transgender man. This Vlog has been created to document my transition from female to male, along with whatever else comes up. I'm a little slow on posting the vids right now because i'm doing a trillion other things, including moving from chicago to california and preparing for my BFA exhibition. In any case, I believe that the trans community on youtube is very important. It can be so hard to be transgender in a world that is mostly unaware or mis-informed of who we are. While coming out can be a huge challenge, I believe that contemporary transgender people have a duty to bring the reality of our identities out in the open for the betterment of society. My "transgeneration" is better off now thanks to the transgeneration" coming out before us. I am grateful to even know what transexuality is and that there are now more things i can do to feel whole and make my life livable. I don't feel that contemporary trans people "owe it" to the older generation-- or even to future ones-- to come out and be "transeducators" to non-trans society. If you don't already feel that, as a given responsibility and a basic part of being a minority, you need to support your people and have genuine and open pride about who you are and others like you, you're a douche. But hey.. i'm a douche too :)
