make the objects with the variables persistent. You should be able to do that by checking a box right above the parent box in the home page of the object. This will allow you to create objects with variables going through rooms.

the health potion works for me but if i try to add another item it doesnt work. when i click on another item in the room it replaces a slot that is alredy used. also it only works for the first slot and for all the slots after the sprite doesnt change.

You should make a story mode which has a form like an rpg. what I mean is the story mode works like an rpg(top-down view) and when u get in a battle, the 2d system comes up and ur battling the enemy. if u need sprites u should search for naruto rmvx sprites and some cool sprites will come up that...
