I play diverse accordeon/melodeons, anglo concertina, guitar, and octave mandolin, mostly folk tunes. I do it for fun. Write if you feel inspired! Best wishes....Forrest

Ha! I don't think you need much encouraging! Your playing has been an inspiration to me & was what finally convinced me to pick up the DBA.

I really like the sweet pipe-organ sound of your old 3 row Hohner - quite different from the honking bass sound of your GC Pokerwork. What is the tuning?

@SimcoeAce.....thanks for your encouraging comments! Old Hohners can sound quite fine. I have learned to tune all my boxes myself. The old three row I play is about 90 yrs. old, and was origially tuned very wet at A=434

Hi Forrest. Really enjoying your accordion playing - simple, melodic & very expressive. I have just started with a GC Hohner Pokerwork (also a guitar & mandolin player). I'm curious to know where you had your vintage Hohners tuned - they sound superb!

i have always loved that piece, captn o kane , and it was played on the box perfect, thanks . i will be copying the nice notes you had in there ,

as always, I am amazed at your understansting of the box. You seem to through out the dishwater but not the baby. I am just an old shanty man. I gave away my melodian to a lady on the Schooner Meerwald so she could be there shanty man, I favor my Bastari but it is a quite instrument, I pratice more now that I have time, but sea chanty's must have some rust in your pipes or thay are not real. But I do aspire to play some of the slow ares and waltzes. I love your effects as they show the real essence of "The Box"
