@SmittyKat I wouldn't recommend a chinese algae eater, if there is any other food in the tank, they won't eat algae. Also, they get really big, need a large tank and are actually a type of freshwater shark. As they get bigger, they get more agressive and will eat smaller fish.

@GumDropZz4EVA Sunlight should'nt have any negative effect on their skin, you just don't want the tank in direct sunlight because in can get too hot for your crestie.

I keep my gecko's crickets in a bigger tank than this.

@metakight4 I had my betta in that same tank for about four months, he did great in it. But I got a larger tank for Christmas, so I put him in the new one. He seems to like the new one better. He blew a bubble nest within the first couple hours in it!

@neofantomu A lot of people seem to have success with corys as betta tank mates, they help keep the tank clean and don't get as large as plecos. Ghost shrimp seem to work well also.

@redred11212 I recommend keeping it simple. A hide, water dish, maybe some small rocks and plants. Tarantulas don't need a lot to be happy. You can find a lot of helpful info on tarantula forums.

I have that same fish/cave thing in my betta's 2 gal tank, but he NEVER goes in it! He hides in the plants sometimes, but mostly he swims all around, makin bubble nests, and dancing at his reflection in the side of the tank.

I've heard of having sex with your socks on before, but this gecko takes it to a whole new level.

@bun314 Some are picky eaters, you can try frozen bloodworms or the tiny freeze dried shrimp, there's betta flakes or pellets, and fish shaped waffer things that are food for like a week. One of those should be appetizing to your betta.

Keep tapping on your tiny tank, and poking your betta with toothpicks. I'm guessing your betta lived about a month.

@duckman252525 1 gal or larger is great for a single betta. Use SILK plants NOT plastic, and a place to hide in. Do some research tho, the smaller the tank, the more often you need to clean it.

My betta was very happy in his 1 gal. tank for several months (recently upgraded to a 2 gal.) In the 1 gal I used a plastic rock with a hole cut in the top for his hide. (I melted the edges arount the hole so it wasn't sharp.) He loved it.

@ninny56 Nice tank. One tip though, if those plants are plastic, I would replace them with some taller silk ones. Plastic plants can tear up a bettas fins pretty bad.

I love this vid! I love that this girl did all the research before getting the betta. And a fish is a great way for young people to learn responsibility. Bettas are pretty easy compared to a lot of other fish, and beautiful to watch especially in a nice clean tank with good light.

@sk8er7132 Google exo terra terrariums. They're usually cheapest at pangea reptiles, but for a pink toe, I'd google tarantula terratiums and look for an exo terra nano. They're smaller, but perfect for arboreal tarantulas, plus they're much cheaper than the larger tanks.

@ilovedai1 Feed crested gecko diet instead of baby food. Baby food isn't very good for cresties. Calcium dusted crickets a couple times a week too. They like to hunt.

@BlackElmoFishing Its worse if that's all you feed your gecko. If you give calcium dusted gut loaded crickets, your gecko would at least be getting some of the nutriens it needs. A diet of baby food alone will lead to serious health problems (floppy tail, MBD, and eventual death).
