spunkytoofers digital artifact lofi synth pedal. circuit bent zoom 505.
two part demo. first demonstration is a casio vl tone being processed by the 505. a patch was edited and stored on the zoom and demonstrates how the bends effect the patch as a whole. the 2nd demo shows another custom fx patch which in turn further processed by the spunkytoofers rabbit hole delay. both fx units in the demo add some foot controllers to play. both are a very formidable lofi processing and synth combination.
the zoom pedal when circuit bent sounds best with filters, modulation and delays as well as some amp simulators. some of the effects in the multi algorithm get extremely harsh and does not play nice with the bends, therefore it is absolutely necessary to edit custom patches with those that play with the bends nicely. circuit bends mostly involve timbre, lofi bit crushing, but also creates nice chaotic resonant filtering, lofi synth textures, random melodies, and all kinds of digital artifacts. i'm still playing around setting up the zoom to see what plays best together but it makes for a wild but controllable lofi synth pedal. better look: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2785/4...

spunkytoofers freakbox. in this video the rapman has a vocoder input which is processing the casio vl tone's rhythms. the effect input gets processed but is also possible to modulate internal feedback patterns within the circuit bent vocoder filters. each knob controls a different filter each one seemingly overiding each other until there is only internal feedback played. it's does require tweaking to get the most out of it since all the controls are interactive and definately a hot signal if you want it. also added controls that glitches the rapman's digital logic. it is a random glitch chance button with body contacts that produce random results. very often strange loops and glitchscapes occur. ever so more rarely it results in self compostions. for a demonstration of the rapman self composing along with playing around with the vocoder feedback played live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVbUxj...

circuit bent yamaha pss 470 - spunkytoofer's shaman drum.
a better look: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2634/4... glitch remodulation matrix with volatile and sympathetic bends grouped seperately, variable self composition controls, variable density controls, pitch over 5 octaves control, input jack for sustain, and onboard controls for sustain.
i avoided the subtle and tried to demo the more drastic sides of the bends. starting with an intial beat and accompainment and mutating it as far as possible. there's alot more capable from this synth but just doing a short run through after assembleage.

besides the waveforms getting bent within a synth or tone module a synth or tone module's workstation logic can be bent. usually have onboard sequencers, auto accompainments, and other forms of self control that the control logic of them also gets bent in random ways. usually uncommon that a workstation like this will allow glitch control that allows a user to interact with the ongoing data. the player can take over, the self logic of the short circuit can take over, or there can be a mix of the fuzzy logic inbetween the user's and the keyboard's logic. the logic can reconfigure the voice it self and playing responses as well as control the event of sounds in an ongoing dialogue with itself or a user of the instrument.
