Stevie is my all time hero. The whole album is my all time best album. its a musicians bible. this album flopped commercially, but for the true listener its a masterpiece.

I like this studio version better then different live versions that you find here and here. The bass is so darn funky... I guess its a recording in those days that Bootsy did the bass. Its the hottest funk groove ever..as far as im concerned...It never bores me albeit its a bit overexposed in co...

well what can i say.. with all due respect. The tricky part of covering songs is that they were done so outstanding by the original artists that it makes it almost impossible to make the grade. I prefer Rose Royce 's version with Gwen Dickie. Nice try though.

The killer Bass player is mr Frank Blair. He also worked with Robert Palmer. He is one of my faverite bassplayers. I enjoyed watching this entire DVD which is the performence on the Jazz festival of montreux 1980.

Does any one know where I can find some more info on Frank Blair. He was Marvins Bass player whom i really dig. He also plays on some of Robert Palmers Work. The guy seems to be invisible on the net. Other fine bass players are Willie Weeks and "the hook" aka James Jamerson
