    What To Do!

    Feeling helpless in the face of liberal dissent in the Church? You are not as helpless as you think.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael;

    As a 'fighter", I am delighted, impressed, and proud, of your first punch. Now, if I may suggest, a follow-up, so to speak. Lead in with "the right of knowledge", then quickly follow-up with the move of imitating the actions of Jesus, and how He defined His Way as only doing what He s...

    Time for Answers!

    A lot of questions need to be asked about just how business is being conducted on the day to day level in the Church. How is it that literature fr...

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Why not just go to the pastor, and ask him not to have the NCR placed in the church? Or better yet; have a representative of the Knights of Columbus, Alter Society, or any other parish organization to set an appointment with the pastor or parish team and say no to this "manure"?

    Christmas and Hell

    What do Christmas and Eternal Damnation have to do with each other. ABSOLUTELY everything!

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    In some cultures the bride and groom give presents to their guests; in my family my brother and sisters were "encouraged" by my father to give mom a gift; after all she bore 4 children in 33 months. I, for one would like to see the Church today, reflect and share with all this facet of the Chris...

    Cultural Ghetto

    The Catholic Faith is being chased into a cultural ghetto. This is happening because all the traditional avenues of transmitting the Faith are lar...

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    To paraphrase a "a recent" cultural hero";

    "Ask not what your Church can do for the world, but what you can do for our Church in the world today". And hey, doesn't it say somewhere that the Church should be "as yeast to the dough(of the world ...) ?

    Rebellion and Loss of Faith

    The result of the Rebellion in the Church is that people lose their faith.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Hello Michael;

    Good, the gauntlet has now been thrown down. I have discovered that the best weapon I can use in confronting these "rebels" is to calmly look at the individual and say quietly, yet firmly "You have separated yourself from the truth that the Church teaches, get out of my way, hypo...

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael;

    In my experience(s) with the Catholic Church structure in the last 30 years or so, I feel that the "coward", whether bishop, cleric, or seminarian is the most potent force, or factor in this pseudo-Anglican movement in our country today.

    Holy Daze

    Shouldn't we be going to Masses instead of eliminating them?

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael;

    In a manner, I feel that this present situation is healthier for the individual, and in the long run, for the Church in general. The individual who is desireous to become a stronger, better Catholic, seeks out the opportunities to streghten this resolve. This now becomes a goal worthy o...

    Sex and Obedience

    What do chastity and obedience have to do with each other? Everything, according to Raymond Cardinal Burke.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael;

    This 'social equivocation', as proclaimed in many schools of Theological Studies during the late '70's and early '80's was described by the term 'following the third way." In short, this was just Vatican ll speak for establishing one's own personal code of sexual morality.

    Walk the Walk

    Admitting past failures is a good start, but now its time stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael,

    Your call to positive action is outstanding. For me, to embrace these very, specific, concrete steps; I need the strength and nourishment provided by daily Mass and frequent prayer and Scriptural study. Minor "accidentals", such as in what direction the celebrant faces, or the reception...

    Catholic & Homosexual

    Homosexual persons ARE different, but in one way many people might not have thought about very much.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Michael,

    Excellent presentation. I, too, agree, with your sentiment, that Our Good Lord speaks privately to the individual happens to find themselves a 'victim soul'.

    But, I believe, and have experienced, that no matter what cross an individual carries; Jesus is with us. Not with a specific ans...

    Is the Church entering into a new and different kind of epoch in her history?

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Well said Michael;

    Hey, if you need a place for a truely, secular house of prayer, come on out to Circleville, Ks., Pop. 100 strong. And, you won't have to drop one, small dime.

    spormantom spormantom commented:

    Keep 'blocking" away Michael; I've got your back in constant prayer, and reflection.
