No.Each stage has a level gimmick and different stage design, the game has fast Momentum platforming and High Speed boosting with many multiple paths.

Their are areas where you can explore like the genesis sonic games.

Unleashed didn't have momentum, it was just all Velocity (Speed) and Thrilling FREE Sense of speed. I will say in fact you tap the boost button half of the time and occasionally Jump on the rails, the game was straight forward with no explorations.

its not a glitch, the player just didn't touch any of the boost pads, he went between them so he didn't touch any of them.

Pause at : 0:33 he just Ran between the 2 boost pads, thus not touching any of the boost pads, thus no boost pads are activated.

Rush and Colors DS feels so linear, due to that each game is very based on on rails boosting, with no mommentum at all, All Ares in the level design is based around boosting and finding multiple paths to boost through.

The Classics had mommentum and Careful platforming you weren't ...

Um Sonic colors is barley any thing like Unleashed.

Unleashed was all about speed boosting and no momentum (QTES).

Colors had speed,platforming and momentum and more tweaked controls and barley any QTES (even all of the QTES are easy).

Sonic colors platforming is similar to Sonic 3&K.
