About Me:
I capture videos of the ships that come to Portland Harbor. I live right near bug lighthouse park, where the Portland Pipeline crude oil dock is, which is the busiest oil dock on the east coast! It even gets more tanker action then larger ports such as New York and Boston! I use http://www.marinetraffic.com to track the ships. Portland Harbor is also home to the Casco Bay Bridge, which connects Portland to South Portland. It's a draw bridge which the ships go under if they are headed for the Motiva, Global, Exxon Mobile, Merril's Marine Terminal, or Sprague docks.
Here is an experiment I did last year, I recorded all of the ship activity for 2 months to try and find patterns and things:
