Ken "Special K" Spellman has been involved in the entertainment business for many years. His radio career was highlighted when he was instrumental in launching Sirius radio in 2000. Prior to that Ken worked at various radio stations across the country. Always one to break a hit Ken was there when Usher, Adina Howard, Montel Jordan, Jaheim, Joe and many others couldn't get airplay in major markets. Ken was willing to take a chance on them and they turned out to be stars. After Sirius Ken worked with DJ Grandmaster Flash on his world tour. Legendary rappers MC Lyte, Dana Dane and Chubb Rock have also worked with Ken and are still good friends. Soundcheck, Inc. was established behind the theory that all great shows must start with a soundcheck. Soundchecks also presented a great opportunity for Ken to get many of his exclusive interviews. Ken began working with independent artist and labels to get their business and projects in line and offer concepts and ideas for today's technology. Current clients include Chubb rock, FaSho Records artist "One Pham", Los Angeles based production company "Chase Music" and Atlanta's singer/songwriter "Devin". On a philanthropic note Ken founded Broadcast Academy, Inc. a not-for-profit organization that provides a training platform and an opportunity for Ken to give back to the youth, college students, and future broadcasters.
