About Me:

What's up y'all this is the official YouTube of Soulfège. Our music is what we call "Afropolitan Fusion" - kind of like what it would sound like if Bob Marley were jammin' w/ the Fugees on a street corner in West Africa.

The band has been crazy blessed to do some pretty cool things the last few years. Our "Sweet Remix" video (see our favorites), which is a remake of the W. African classic "Sweet Mother" and was shot in Ghana a few years back, managed to chart number 4 in the country after videos by R. Kelly, Usher & Beyonce, and went on to air in over 50 countries. We've been featured in some great media outlets including BBC Worldservice, NPR, the Boston Herald, Boston Globe, ABC Chronicle and MTV Africa.

We've been nominated for a couple of Boston Music Awards, a Boston Urban Music Award, and Independent Music Award, and most recently won Best Hip Hop Song of 2007 in the Billboard World Song Contest, for a song called "From The Soul" from our upcoming record "Take Back the Mic." We recently signed to new NY-based Indy label "Left Turn" music which was launched by a multi-platinum producer and senior execs at Columbia and Verve/Universal.

For those that don't know, this band is about more than music. We believe that real people have the power to change the world, and we started a movement called "Take Back the Mic" to challenge and help our generation to do just that.

The band is comprised of a sick crew of heads raised in Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae, Rock and W. African Highlife. You'll have to hear it to believe it. ;) The band is fronted by vocalists Jonathan Gramling, Kelley Nicole and our band-leader and resident rabble-rouser, the infamous DNA.

You can check out our music at: www.myspace.com/soulfege

You can join the movement at: www.takebackthemic.com

We are out to make history. Let us know if you're down to ride.

Thank you so much, man, for standing up for what you believe in and using your gifts for speech and music to inspire people to do the same. Thank you for showing people that young people are important and informed. And most of all, thank you for being articulate and openminded and evenhanded.

I might suggest a career in politics to you, but I'd prefer whatever you cook up on your own.

It's an honor to live in a country with citizens like you.

Ur African American n support Obama means u support him because u feel like u re just falling in love with him as brother. huh? arent u?

Wow my friend, I dig your perspective and intellect. You really have me contemplating Obama.

You debunk a stereotypical myth perpetuated by a predominantly white society.

If every brother in The U.S. was on your page, it would be a better world to live in.

Peace....
