@FanjitaTowels No worries. Anand offered his queen as a sacrifice. Of course the "gift" can't be accepted without losing the game.
A grandmaster announcer is aware of this distinction. They are just keeping the game exciting for the layman by letting them know the queen is en pris.

@Grutch Wow! I have a 21ux fortunately with none. I was considering adding / upgrading to the 24" but maybe not now.
If you don't mind my asking, why did they say they wouldn't?! A noticeable dead pixel is a deal breaker for an artist.

Judit Polgar Vs. Vladimir Epishin "one look will surely win you over"
http://ChessOnDVD.com Judit Polgar against Vladimir Epishin. No contest. Nuff said
@thespacialone
Your line is so forcing here, it practically plays itself after the first move. The catch is, of course, that with real games it's harder to know what we are looking for. Unlike in books, no matter how hard the problems are, there is no "White to Play and Mate" sign neatly displa...

@thespacialone
Nice idea! Re5 interposes first.
It is elegant how the light squared bishop comes alive to cover g8. I wouldn't say it is "pretty simple" though, at least to find in a game with so many appealing options. After all, Judit missed it :)

Hi, I think its here at the beginning:
white knight captures black knight Nxd5 is - 3:0
(not 3:3, black hasn't recaptured it yet and white is up a piece having made the first capture.)
black knight captures queen - 3:9

@VirtRaM The white rook is defended by the other white rook, so the knight will be captured back at the end of the variation. Capturing the knight is "free."
A knight is roughly worth 3 pawns. A rook 5.
If white were to capture the rook he would be giving two minor pieces for a rook. 6 pawns wo...
