Groove is the most important aspect of a bass player, keeping the song tight and just locking in with the drummer really keeps a good strong foundation of any song. This is the main idea that Eric strives for with any music that he plays. Eric was 16 years old when he first started playing the bass. He has been playing different styles of music throughout his career, ranging from Rock, R&B, Jazz and Pop.

Eric believes that it is not just playing that creates a great musician, but also through intense listening. Through this knowledge it has helped him attain an understanding to the real essence of what is important about playing. Eric sooner or later understood that it's not about the amount of notes you play, but how you make even one note sound perfect.

By listening and really letting great bass players influence Eric, it has helped him really taste music in its purest form. Guys like Pino Palladino have really influenced his playing in the idea of just keeping the groove tight, keeping everything simple and just letting the groove take over.
Eric's believes that it is very important to be able read music and understand theory. But with theory as his foundation, it is also about being able to adapt in any situation with creating music.

"There is so much more to learn and to understand, I cannot wait for what the world has in store for my career. Being able to play music is one thing, but making people feel good is also another art. You can be the best player in the world, but if you don't have the attitude, you won't get that call back. I just always have to remember to keep the groove and the feel, and always make any music I play come from the heart, Aptitude + Attitude determines Altitude."
