I think leaving the mans face a mystery is an analogy to their music. The lack of lyrics gives the listener their own interpretation to the meaning of the song. Just like how everyone might have a different idea on what the mans face might look like.

i really love Lifesons way up stepping up on GUP, as a result from Signals, where he was somewhat pushed to the side. As a lover of all of their era's and different sounds, I think I find myself listening to the 80's decade the most (minus Presto)

I think the debut Braids album - "Native Speaker", may be worthy of some of your time. Or not...:-)
