You need to open the Classic up, (avoiding at all costs touching the CRT and associated parts), and remove the logic board. After that, wash the logic board in the dishwasher! I know it sounds crazy, but I did it with mine, and it worked. Let it dry for 24 hours, and put in a fresh PRAM battery. ...
