A short documentary about a man who's visualy handicapped, and has a little obsession for women.
Love is Blind.
A little background info:
So, we had to make a portrait of a person of choice. My original goal was to make a documentary about a blind man who's been participating in theater-plays for years, which seemed very interresting. These plays are by the way fully acted by people with a visual handicap. So now, there was a new play coming up, so I contacted the people, and I went to one of the rehearsals to go check it out. When I came there, the man I had in mind really didn't like the idea of being filmed. So I was forced to pick somebody else. My 'problem' was: he was the only one of the participants who was completely blind. The rest of the group were people with a bad vision, but could still see. I began to talk with the other people, and I came across this guy who has a real admiration for his dad, being a motor-man. So then I wanted to make a documentary about that, plus: he had no trouble at all with the idea of being filmed. So I picked him to make my movie about. Now, during the actual shootings, I noticed that, in interviews, he always began to talk about women, and how he likes them. But I didn't really pay attention to it at the time, until in post-production. There, and because of the undeniable presence of that one aspect, I then decided to change my angle of incidence, and make a film about his 'obsession', as you may call it. But, because that wasn't my goal yet during shooting, I didn't really have a whole lot of usable material of that matter, but I made the best I could with the footage I did have, regarding the topic... So this is what became of it.
