Well DAve, thrugh your camera, it appears that the 50 has a blue/purple tint to it. The 40 and 30 indicator both appeared to be pink.

There is a free download out there called AUDACITY. If you're a beginner, then this is a good program. Several features, easy to use, and you don't have to upgrade your sound card. One drawback though is Latency....sounds like you're using a delay but you aren't.. Just play with the settings on A...
