GAME ON TWO At the close of the Game On One screening, everyone had to decide if they wanted to do the next round. If so, they were given a fortune cookie from the chinese take-out we had.
1) 5 minutes or less. 2) Your theme is the fortune from your cookie - this is very open to interpretation. 3) You must have a title card stating your fortune prior to the beginning of your movie, but following 10 seconds of black. 4) End with a title card stating that the movie has been part of the Game On project. 5) ***A FORTUNE COOKIE MUST APPEAR SOMEWHERE IN YOUR MOVIE***
Game On is a filmmakers club started by Laura Miro and Alyssa Lobit (that's moi). We invited friends, both pros and complete newbies, to play. Here's how it worked: Each round started off with an email detailing parameters for a short film. If you were in, you showed up on game night for the screening (usually about 6 weeks later), completed movie in hand. Outside of that, it was up to each person to figure it out, though help was offered and utilized whenever necessary in different areas such as editing, music, etc. The point of Game On is to provide a venue for people to put their cameras where their mouths are. Or something. While having fun was the true purpose, some of the films have gone on to play in festivals. That's right.

GAME ON ONE This was the first round (duh). We all used the same script, but the movies were oh so different.
The Rules: It's up to you to decide how many characters are interacting in the scene (if it's one scene or 12 for that matter).
You cannot change the script in any way and must include all of the lines. The script must be played verbatim, however pace - pauses, mumbles, gesticulations - are entirely up to you.
At least one character must communicate all the lines in the script. It's up to you whether the lines are spoken, titled, in a foreign language. But only the lines listed may be used.
The finished movie must be shorter than 7 minutes. That's a hard 7, don't push it.
On your marks...get set...GO.
THE SCENE: Below are the lines of dialogue. You can change punctuation, but you must keep the lines in this order. You can use any medium within your movie (animation, still photo, etc.) but your final movie must be on tape (DV or VHS).
======================================= Oh my god. What's the problem? It's all over now. I can fix it. It's too late. We'll see about that. Are you serious? Trust me. Wait a minute. What's the matter? Oh, this is too much. Don't be so sure. I've got it! Listen. You're on to something. Don't be ridiculous. It's all right. Okay. No problem. Oh my god. =======================================
