I like dogs, dogs are cool, I got two!

Three years ago, I brought Paige home when she was a 10 week old puppy. I found her through an ad by a local border collie breeder. Paige has been the star of my life ever since that day! I quickly learned that I had a passion for dog training when we first attended basic puppy manners class together. Even to this day, we continue to attend various classes and try to learn as much as we can. Paige now knows a magnitude of advanced behaviors and tricks. We participate in competitive obedience, agility, tricks, disc work, flyball... just about everything! Paige is a fierce, focused worker and loves to learn new things. Paige continues to amaze me with her eagerness, intelligence, and kind heart. She is my pride and joy and I love her beyond measure.

Dexter is my newly adopted mixed breed pup! He is 1 year old and is such a sweet boy. He was lucky to be pulled from a high kill shelter in Tennessee and given a second chance at life. I loved him from the moment I first saw him! He has a kind and gentle personality that makes him an absolute joy around people. When especially excited about something, Dexter is notorious for throwing his paws in the air. He is such a happy dog and is full of potential! Dexter and Paige get along wonderfully. We love him completely and our lives would not be the same without him!

I use and advocate positive reinforcement and clicker training as a method of dog training. Clicker training is extremely effective as it helps communicate to your dog what behaviors you are asking. The dog learns that at the exact moment they hear the click sound, they have done an appropriate behavior and a reward is soon to follow. The clicker marks the moment something was correct and the food reinforces the behavior (making it more likely to occur again).
