About us: Snowshoefilms was formed in 2000 in Chautauqua, N.Y. by josh (ranxer), karen (jane engstrom, nerak) and roy (yoryevrah) harvey. We took as our mandate Sister Rosalie Bertell's dictum, "make visible what's happening" coupled with an understanding of Steve Biko's insight, "The most powerful weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed." In our now decade-long effort to cover the important stories we couldn't do while working for corporate media (& city & county government and the US Coast Guard (josh), we've been fortunate to learn from many thinkers/activists, especially including those we failed to interview: Professors Julian Jaynes (1920-1997), Kevin B. MacDonald (1944- ), and Polish psychologist Andrew Lobaczewski (1921-1998), author of Political Ponerology.
