Let's Play 'The Unworld' by dottedboy! (a SMW hack)
Mario is trapped in a world of weird overworld palettes! In this strange land, Mario is trapped in a box, where he depends on the player to free him. This hack is really fun... a little easy, but still fun. I think this rom hack was meant for no savestates. I'd rate it 8/10.

Let's Play 'The New Mario World'! (by OnlineVideoSurfer)

HACK NAME: The New Mario World V1.1
LENGTH: 96 exits
AUTHOR: OnlineVideoSurfer
DESCRIPTION: "A "Lost Levels" styled hack in that there's very little in the way of new enemies and features, but there is a steeper learning curve and a ton of secrets to find within those levels. Don't worry if difficulty hacks scare you though, many of the early levels are still easy and there is a sincere attempt at level design and variety.
This hack improves on the original version in the following ways:
1. All Koopa Kids, Bowser, and Reznor are more difficult, keeping with the tone of the hack.
2. Lag is considerably reduced.
3. Sprite memory is improved in a few stages
4. Various bugs, some minor, some major, have been either eliminated or minimized.
5. A few minor level edits to fix bugs, such as removing Yoshi in Forest of Illusion 3 and removing the final Pokey in Chocolate Island 5, and one major level edit with Yoshi's Island 3 now featuring a faster scroll.
The hack is about 95% the same, but the changes generally make things more difficult. Unlike the original, it is not a pure vanilla hack as it takes advantage of a few patches and hex edits to tweak a few things here and there. However, it still resembles a vanilla hack in all essential ways, and those few changes ultimately allow it to play much better than the original version." Basically, this hack intends to make SMW harder (and it does). It's also a REALLY fun hack. I would rate this hack 9/10. Very fun to play.
Let's Play 'Hi Mario World'! (another rom hack)
The beginning of the hack (Donut Plains) was full of very short levels, each with a unique idea, which I liked. However, a lot of these levels lacked difficulty, especially ones like the note block maze and the raining goombas. Also, the graphics were messed up at some points, like the underwater swimming in lava level.
The overworld kinda sucked in the beginning, but you get to the Donut Plains, it gets WAY better. The forest looked much cleaner and better than the rest of the overworld.
Basically, he should make the beginning of the hack better. People might think it's a bad rom hack when they first play it, because of the bad beginning overworld, etc., but the rest of the hack is actually pretty good.
