Welcome to the Smokefree Playgrounds YouTube channel, one of the great smokefree things happening in Hornby!

The three-month Smokefree Playgrounds Programme has begun. Signage on and around the playgrounds at Wycola, Helmore and Branston Parks reminds parents and carers that kids copy what they see and asks them to refrain from smoking while at the playground. The programme is voluntary; its tagline, 'Be a Smokefree Role Model' focuses on positive behaviour rather than enforcement.

This YouTube channel gives Hornby kids the opportunity to express their feelings about smoking to the public.

You're welcome to make your own smokefree video! Just upload it to YouTube and send a link to smokefreeplaygrounds@missinglinknz.co.nz.

Be sure to attend the Smokefree Playgrounds Celebration, being held at Wycola Park on World Smokefree Day (31st May). Free entertainment for kids and adults, performances by local schools and dance groups, food, info tents hosted by community groups and even a bouncy castle for the kids.
