i wonder how many Brits know how many Americans there are, myself included, that see Her Majesty as infinitely preferable to what we have now in the US. In fact, many may not know how much actual power the monarch has over government but, because of tradition and pure practicality, doesn't ever e...

This has to be the funniest thing ever filmed. Unfortunately, you have to know the Carol Burnett Show, Mama's Family and Dick Van Dyke to realize it!!!!
Seriously though, that's true comedy genius on the part of Vicki Lawrence. While Tim Conway played Carol and Dick perfectly...keeping them crac...

How does she do that??? I grew up with the autoharp in school and it was a rudimentary instrument at best used by our teachers to play basic chords for songs we sang as children. I've never seen it used like Mother Maybelle uses it. Incredible!

@morganandb2 Perfectly articulated! I couldn't agree more. Queen Elizabeth embodies so many virtues that seem devalued today. It is almost as if duty, honor, discretion, loyalty (etc) are so "old fashioned" as to be irrelevant in modern society. I often hear people speak of her as an anachronism....

I saw one comment left here..."Monarch without a JOB". Are you kidding me? Maybe you should do some research into exactly what the Queen's day is like. Or better yet, her year. She is on duty 24/7/365. She takes duty to her country very seriously and, if you think she's a financial drain, maybe y...

@dragoncaviar Strained? Really????? Actually, it is the effortless nature of Pavarotti's voice that distinguishes him from Florez (in addition to the obvious "thin" and "tinny" quality of Florez's voice.). Just listen. It's really not up for debate actually.

I'm an American and I'd like to add my good wishes as well. God save the Queen! If only we had the kind of continuity and sense of duty among the members of our government that Her Majesty has brought to Britain and the Commonwealth for so long. She has been a singular example for us all.
