@phoenixbyrd2: Not in the human health care field, but I am a veterinarian with experience and emphasis on emergency medicine, which is very similar to human emergency medicine. And no, these videos are not instructive; they are for entertainment. As several people have commented on the individual videos, they are either totally unrealistic, or so old that they are not up to current guidelines. There are a few instructional/simulated resuscitation videos on Youtube - those may be better to watch. Honestly, if you're thinking about becoming a nurse, I would talk to actual nurses and volunteer somewhere and see what it is like. Resuscitation is a very small part of nursing; if that is all you're interested in, you will probably be disappointed.

I'm curious - are you a health care professional? I'm interested in becoming a nurse - and I don't know if it's instructive or not to watch code/resuscitation videos. What do you think?
