@daasianboi The video is intended to show only the shaping and heat treating of a high performance blade made from modern steel. There's another video in the works to show the foundation forging of a more traditional layered steel blade made from tamahagane.
@Danglesboy1 If I understand your question, you're wondering if when you're processing and consolidating the bloom into a steel bar, you need to keep it hot. The answer is absolutely yes. Steel cracks when it's deformed in a cold state. But additionally, it's too hard to move when it's cold....
@attackoftherandom It's basically done with the corner of the file. You just cut the pattern line by line by line all the way down the nakago.
