Yes it is harder to play a steel guitar. The action is stiffer and not very forgiving, one must be very good and use to the feel of the guitar. You must be very accurate in hitting the strings, every sound is amplified and others can hear the minor mistakes. Practice everyday even if it only for a few minutes. Get in the habit of playing anything everyday, even it is hitting the strings and making noise, any noise. The younger you are the more time you will have in your life to get kick ass good!
