I do wide stance pushups, with my hands a fair bit wider than shoulder width, and hands slightly forward as my elbows make an awful gristle-crunchy sound if I bring my arms in and back in a standard push up stance.

Is there any particular advantage to doing them in traditional style or is it ok ...
