Btw, even wet leaves have an insulating effect. Anything that gives dead air space - wet or dry - will insulate you. Of course, dry is preferred, but wet will work.

@tatetalk Hard to say. Fluff up your tinder a lot. Keep your hands near the tinder when striking the steel. Either put the striker near the tinder and pull back on the steel, or put the steel on the tinder and strike from there.
