Your friend's LS3 sounds like it may have needed the 5-20 fuse pull because the computer might have defaulted to the "low octane" fuel tables when someone at the dealer put 87 octane gas therefor pulling timing and robbing HP. bottomline, the 5.0 is NO MATCH for an experienced driver driver in the Z in either the 1/8th or 1/4 OR ANYTHING with whatever gearing or tire the mustang has.
