Hi there, may i know its the best to keep the tank empty without any gravel or woods?

I notice a tank with filled with gravel traps lots of "trash and shit", so for my case, i clear everything leaving the tank empty so the contamination is in control.

it might infect by fungus with the injury skin where no longer protected. better quarantine with a clean clinic tank with 0.3% salt and enough oxygen. Salt bath is 1 of the option but u also can use a cotton stick to direct apply the fungus medicine to the defected fish body.
