'71 was the best version. The cast was perfect. I recently saw the new one with Bernadette Peters and it was ok, but not as good as this one.

Not long ago there was so much more of their music on youtube. I remember the entire movie of I Married An Angel was on in parts. My favorite when the 5 girls sang Tira Lira La.

I love Renata Scotto. This is one of her most famous operas, along with Madame Butterfly. I never got to see her on stage, but I am very grateful for DVD. She was also an incredible actress.

@Beejeification - I saw the show in 1971 or 1972. Dorothy Collins wore a silver dress with the back cut out to her waste. She sang the true torch song. It was my first broadway musical, and I will never forget her. She sang it the way it was suppose to be, which is absolutely wonderful.

I really liked this commercial. It was a goof on the Lassie commercials I've seen in the past. I also liked the one with the beaver almost getting hit by a car and then the beaver saving the same guy from the bridge that was washed out.

Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and many other composers all wanted Mr. Astaire to sing his songs. He wasn't a fantastic singer, but he had great delivery.
