To truly free your mind, you must first realize that it is enslaved.
About Me:
Hate the cancer, not the cancer patient. Likewise, hate religion, not the people who are benighted by it. If you are like me, some of the people you love most in this world are kind, generous people who also happen to worship the psychotic, blood-soaked desert god of the ancient Hebrews.
It seems insane to a freethinker, but it's really not so crazy; it is merely a holdover from what Christopher Hitchens calls the "bawling infancy of our species". Anyone who has studied evolution a bit knows that our minds are hard-wired to see and to sense things that are not there. This has helped our species survive on many dark nights, but it has also given us some strange propensities, both for astounding inventiveness and for equally astonishing gullibility. So we invent mechanical flying machines and the Internet, but we also invent preposterous things like gods, demons and talking donkeys (all three of which are in the Bible).
So be it. This is the human condition, and as such it is all perfectly natural. But like wisdom teeth or the coccyx, which are also perfectly natural, some of the remnants of this sort of thinking are vestigial. In other words, they served us in the past, but are no longer required. All we have to do is realize it.
I believe that should be the goal of the thinking atheist; not to deride people who have been deluded by their parents and their society into accepting absurdities invented long ago by the primitive intellects of barbaric men, but to help in some small way to lift the veil that has been placed over their eyes.
That task is difficult enough without forcing these people, normal everyday folks, into intellectual retreat by bullying them with epithets and insults. These are people we care about, or at least should care about, in the same way we care about anybody who has been afflicted by a disease. I believe we should act accordingly.
Attack the ideas, but not the people. Attack the disease, but not the sufferer. We will never be able to awaken humanity from its religious stupor if all we do is throw rocks at decent people. — SinCristo
In dark ages people are best guided by religion, as in a pitch-black night a blind man is the best guide; he knows the roads and paths better than a man who can see. When daylight comes, however, it is foolish to use blind old men as guides. — Heinrich Heine

What is the difference of the christians life and atheists.
Atheists live in fear, waiting for death. Empty and sad life trying to fill with alcohol, drugs etc. I'm not going to continue to write well you know what else.
Christians live in joy and with God on this earth, each problem they give to God, and faith gets the solution. Not afraid of death because there awaits us a beautiful life, and for this, there is a lot of evidence.
My friend think about your life before it's too late.
I would love to see a debate between you two!
