Welcome

There's a blossom that blows, that scoffs at the snows
And it faces root fast the rage of the blast
It sweetens the sod no slave ever trod
Since the mountains upreared their altars to God

The flower of the free, the heather, the heather
The Bretons and Scots and Irish together
The Manx and the Welsh and Cornish forever
Six nations are we all Celtic and free

Our blossom is red as the life's blood we shed
For Liberty's cause against alien laws
When Lochiel and O'Neill and Llewellyn drew steel
For Alba's and Erin's and Cambria's weal

The flower of the free, the heather, the heather
The Bretons and Scots and Irish together
The Manx and the Welsh and Cornish forever
Six nations are we all Celtic and free

Let the Saxon and Dane bear the rule o'er the plain
On the hem of God's robe is our scepter and globe
For the Lord of all light revealed in his height
For heaven and earth rose up in his sight

The flower of the free, the heather, the heather
The Bretons and Scots and Irish together
The Manx and the Welsh and Cornish forever
Six nations are we all Celtic and free

I haven't yet read the full mabinogion, but many of the Myths are ( probably ) based on real legends and characters. What is interesting about the Mabinogi, its not just the history of wales but "also" Ireland Brittany etc..
Nemeton212 (3 months ago)
Arthur could mean bear king. Gildas mentioned the Briton "Ambrosius" involved in battles to fight of f the Saxons. Gildas "also" mentioned another warrior/military leader that fought against the invasion, but unfortunately he never mentioned the military leaders name.

As you already know. Gildas is buried in Brittany which shows how linked these tribes were/are. Old welsh literature speaks of Druid training centres in Brittany and many would have kept up to date with the learning of all the Celtic language's, so they could communicate.

The "Celtic tribes" did have an "immense" past that has been compressed and misnamed...

Yes, the Dragon line!! Thank you for sharing the "Breton history" and its "always" welcome.
Nemeton212 (3 months ago)
The Britons/Bretons already had links with Armorica so the area was somewhere were there was some safety....

Although there are different flags the Red Dragon always represented all the Brythonic tribes. The red dragon..... representing the Britons and this was from very early sources.
