@jamiedean83 A lot of forces use unmarked 'busas or R1s to avoid that embarrassing situation where the suspect leaves you behind on a clear road. I think the police rider in the film probably saw that the car would have to slow, no point being up his backsaide when he's got nowhere to go.

He doesn't mention this, but the door can be set up differently to open either or both of the side vestibule panels. There are toggles and loops in place to facilittate this, which provides a more sheltered vestibule area and eliminates the annoyance of the central guy line.

@JTV84 It's quite simple really, much like yourself. When the police vehicle is doing 100mph and accelerating further, the bike is still gaining ground, meaning it's accelerating faster than the police vehicle. Physics doesn't get much more basic!
