About this user
I'm going to get slightly philosophical on music here. Why does music mean so much to just about every culture and people across the globe? Does its rhythms echo those of our own beings? I've always wondered what it is in music that makes us dance, tap our feet or bob our heads. People have such strong and emotional reactions to it. It's a powerful thing. It sets moods or changes them completely, it makes us laugh, cry, takes us back through time to a specific place and memory. It exorcises our demons, gives us words we don't have on our own, becomes our therapy, our expression and part of ourselves. I love when I can listen to a piece with no words at all and feel what its creator was feeling at the time. For me, music is very much about my emotional self. It affects me deeply and I've always loved it. I can't tell you how many times a certain song has helped get me over the rough spots in my life. You'll find evidence of that in my playlists. I was going through a breakup about five months ago and compiled a playlist of songs that helped me over that. I have playlists of friends bands and of concerts I'll be seeing soon. Everything on this page has personal meaning to me.
*the background on this page was done using GIMP. I combined three pictures I took (two of me and one of the moon) with an image of a star field and turned it seamless.
