The Terra Rossa ensemble was founded in 2007 by Yishai Ben-Yaakov.
Before then its artists played together in various bands and were good friends. The combination of their love of music and warm friendship established a bond which produced the ensemble. All the musicians live in Jerusalem and its surroundings. The name of the ensemble is derived from the rich fertile red soil that is very common in the hills of Jerusalem -- known as "Terra Rossa".

The Terra Rossa ensemble represents a new generation of musicians in Jerusalem, and in Israel in general, which has influenced the culture in Jerusalem and created a new genre. The original music is composed by Yishai Ben-Yaakov, the arrangements are a joint effort of the whole ensemble, and are deeply influenced by the different musical cultures of the east and the west. The music aims to create a unique and refreshing dialogue between the members' different traditions and cultures, and seeks to find the simple truth which unites them all.

Terra Rossa plays great music with melody and harmony from the soul. The exciting rhythm of this music affects thousands of people in Israel and awakens their emotions.
