This is just wonderful--thank you for the opportunity to listen to this spectacular performance by Horowitz--it forces me into my old pattern of listening to him play of a particular piece over and over again. Not only is his technique incredible, but the balance of parts and rhythmic alterations...

This is really quite good. I've never heard her before. Thanks to truecrypt (whoever that person is) for the 900 or so videos. This is a real public service.

If this is Cliburn from the Tchaikovsky competition in the late 1950s it is a very embarassing performance from the pianist who produced the greatest single performance of any piano concerto (Rachmaninoff 3rd, of course). I wonder if this was a required "competition piece" that he didn't care abo...

Although Ciccolini puts in some interesting rhetorical pauses, Berman's performance is the best overall.

Surely Chopin had a higher purpose in mind for this work than to simply run up and down the keys as an exercise. She plays the notes without any rhetorical quality. In short, she does not speak.
