Goldfish Fry

I decided I wanted a small pond on my back steps so I bought a waterproof planter and filled it with water and plants from my pond in the backyard. Apparently, there were goldfish eggs on the plants as a few days ago I found baby fish swimming in the planter - about 20 or so. I set up a 1 gallon tank on the sill over my kitchen window with some plants from the pond, a piece of driftwood from the beach, and clay kitty litter/sandblasting sand for the bottom. I caught nine of the little guys and put them in their new home. When it starts getting colder, I'll put all the babies from the tank and the planter into the big pond for them to winter over, or I'll give them away. I'll keep three for the tank. Right now they are about 1 cm in length. I can't wait to see what they look like as as their parents are various patterns of orange and white and there are even shubunkins in the pond. These babies could be shubbies, goldfish, or even koi. I won't know until they get bigger.

I am uncertain over the choice of successor. Of course we need to wait and see what he brings to the role but I wish they had gone for someone a bit older.

I see that you are also a Space 1999 fan. I love that show and was crazy about it when I was a kid. I bought every episode on DVD and still have the toys and the books. :-)
keep on keep'n on!
