Too bad a fully produced version of these tracks wasn't released in '84 or '85. Too bad Topper couldn't keep it together back then. I'll take these audio experiments and B.A.D. any day over the punk-by-numbers CUT THE C-RAP, and I consider Strummer a genius wordsmith/vocalist.

It's a brilliant music video. It isn't beating on the USA in particular; it is beating on human nature and world "civilization" in general. Ambrose Bierce would have loved it.

WAY is a much better record than their nadir, WBN. That being said, I'll take Townshend's EMPTY GLASS or ROUGH MIX over WAY any day. QUADROPHENIA was the last mega-brilliant Who album, a perfect, reflective coda to their recording career. From then on, the genius only surfaced on occasion.

The most classic of classic rock: Stairway to Heaven, Crossroads, and Won't Get Fooled Again. At the Old Vic, everything is remarkably FRESH and Moon still has the gift. Daltrey, too.

Great song--really the last one they recorded that sounds like a first LP track, and that ain't a bad thing. The second album was their peak, but the early recordings are classic thrash rock and noise pop wonders .
