@GerryAtrixx - I believe the name is in reference to the television series 'the man from u.n.k.l.e', which explains why unkle and u.n.k.l.e both can be found. I think with the first actual album release they 'lost the dots'.

I believe the proper pronunciation is "Oon-Clay" which means to be a cut above or to be higher than the norm. It could also stand for the uncle that really isnt related to your family but comes around during the holidays with your Aunt Mildred who is a drunk and always ends up passed out pissy drunk while "play uncle" hits on your nubile post teen cousins..
