These BAC 1-11s, without hush kits, were such noisy, deafening aircraft that they could wake up the deceased for miles around (figuratively speaking). Extremely deafening. Not even the 727 can match the distinctive noise of the BAC 1-11.

Yes, this is a waste of taxpayer money. Why does a presidential motorcade consist of 25-40 cars is beyond me. I say a set of 10-15 cars is enough. Besides, the president's limo is armor-plated and mine proof so that no firearm, with the possible exception of a cannon, can ever penetrate the armor...

VC10s, along with the BAC 1-11s, were among the most deafening, noisiest aircraft ever to be put in commercial service. They take off like rockets.
