There seems to be two separate energy pulses or flashes of light that move towards the object just before it departs. Possibly using the electrical power grid to somehow absorb energy?? Either way good catch.

Agree with HidanKitten32...Saw a figure at the 2:02 mark when the lights come back on,standing between the fireplace and the tv which clearly steps backwards around the corner....thanks for posting...
