'Young, energetic and beautiful'. And she is soon to make an impact in the local music industry. Hailing from Johor, Sheila Abdull is not an unfamiliar name in her home town.
She built a name for herself at an early age when she sang to represent both her school and her district. Sheila's other credits include singing for Yayasan Warisan Johor, Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru Ochestra, RTM Kombo and Johore Jazz Group. However, it was not until she competed in Suara Bintang that she caught the eye of Adnan Abu Hassan. As the winner, she was entitled to record a single and was thus taken as a recording artiste under Adnan Abu Hassan's SRD Villa Records. Sheila was quick to grab this golden opportunity as Adnan Abu Hassan for discovering and grooming the talents of other singers such as Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Fauziah Latiff, Misha Omar and Dayang NurFaizah.
Malaysia's biggest recording company EMI, saw the talents of Sheila Abdull and struck a deal with SRD Villa Records. Sheila Abdull is now an EMI (M) Sdn Bhd recording artist while remaining under the management of SRD Villa Records.
Sheila Abdull's self titled debut album consists of eight new refreshing tracks. Written by Adnan Abu Hassan and Faris, Sheila Abdull's album consists mainly of pop ballads whilst the rest are mid-tempo tracks.
