Shands HealthCare is a private, not-for-profit academic health system affiliated with the University of Florida. Although our two organizations are legally separate, we are linked together with a common vision, "UF&Shands: The Science of Hope." Shands HealthCare, along with our medical staff of 1,500 UF and community physicians, leads the state for healthcare referrals.

We serve patients from every county in Florida, throughout the region, nation and more than a dozen countries each year.
