So, a question. This vid was posted in 03/2010. There's an earlier vid from 2009 which shows the east end of the bridge with at least a partial deck; in this vid, the deck is gone, and only the metal girders remain.

I was listening in headphones, and right at 3:08 there is a loud CLANG like someone dropped a length of iron pipe on a concrete floor... wonder if that was the noise of the rail breaking, or whatever it was. Anybody else notice this?

The arranger on this was a Canadian keyboardist named Claude Chaput, who currently is conductor and composer for Cirque Du Soleil. Presumably he played the Rhodes, and possibly the bass as well; who else was involved in this recording is a mystery.

On the rare occasion this gets on the radio now-a-days, not only do they cut out the middle verse entirely, but the word "whiteboy" is edited out! (They cover it up with the falsetto voice from the end singing "play that funky music", "got to keep on play...

@breathingboy This music is by P.I. Tchaikovsky; it's the Waltz from Act I of his ballet, "The Sleeping Beauty". (Disney's version borrowed considerably from this ballet as well. Movie producers love the words "Public Domain Music"...)

The text in the FRA report says the train was 6,918 tons, but the summary at the head says 16,918 tons. One or the other has to be wrong...

I wonder, does "trailing tons" mean the weight of the train exclusive of the locomotives? Because if so you have to add another couple hundred tons for them.

@SoulCalibrator Sounds different because it was a different composer. This was the only stage that was composed by Masahiro Yuge; the rest of the game's music was written by Tatsuya Uemura (stages 1,3,5,7) and Toshiaki Tomisawa (stages 2,6,8).

The trains in your other videos pass by there a lot faster; I bet NS issued a slow order after that truck hit and until an inspector came by to look at the bridge.

@soLhunteR1 There are plenty of signs leading up to that bridge clearly stating 11'8" clearance... plus a light that flashes if you're overheight. Trucks keep plowing into the damn thing regardless, because people don't know how to read.
