There's a Shady Dell in everyone's life. You had a Shady Dell. It was that "I know a place" place where you could go to shed your worries and feel really alive. It was a place where your kind of people went and your kind of music played and you knew that you were part of something special. You belonged. Please join me here and on my blog Shady Dell Music & Memories and experience all over again what it's like to be young.
About Me:

I'm a friend just waiting to happen. If you are looking for more than just a "click on" friend, then I might be your guy. I love to look in the rear view mirror and try to figure out what happened.

While I enjoy discovering obscure lost doo-wop, soul, R&B and other forms of music, I find that I become most energized when listening to a song that I actually remember, one that is linked to happy memories of good times. I suppose you could say that I tend to like my oldies medium rare and well done.

Bill K. - Thanks for your comment. "The World Through a Tear" was subdued, intellectual and melancholy, a departure from the kind of material that Sedaka fans had come to expect. I agree that the song was ahead of its time. Thanks again for visiting!

Thanks for "The World Through A Tear" from Neil Sedaka. One of his best. I remember it reached the Top 20 in Chicago on the WLS Radio Survey. A song that was ahead of it's time
